Post-Hajj flight operation begins as pilgrims start journey home

MAKKAH, May 31: The post-Hajj flight operation for government-sponsored pilgrims has begun, with thousands of pilgrims starting their journey home after completing Hajj 2026.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, along with senior officials of the Hajj Mission, bid farewell to departing pilgrims in Makkah. Pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made during Hajj and appreciated the services provided throughout the pilgrimage.

Director General Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro, the Chief Coordinator and other officials of the Hajj Mission also saw off pilgrims, extending prayers and best wishes for their safe return.

The launch of the post-Hajj operation was marked with a brief ceremony, including a cake-cutting event attended by officials and staff.

First flight departs for Sialkot

The first return flight, PK-964, is scheduled to depart from Jeddah for Sialkot at 10:20pm on May 31.

According to the flight schedule, 21 flights will operate on June 1. These include five flights to Islamabad, four each to Karachi and Lahore, two each to Multan, Sialkot and Faisalabad, and one flight to Quetta.

Officials said 5,628 pilgrims will return home during the first two days of the operation.

Repatriation operation to continue until June 30

The month-long return operation will continue until June 30 and cover nearly 119,000 government-sponsored pilgrims.

PIA, Saudi Airlines, AirSial and Airblue are participating in the operation to facilitate the return of pilgrims to various cities across the country.

Officials said the flight schedule has been designed to ensure the smooth and orderly return of pilgrims following the completion of Hajj rituals.

Many pilgrims departed with prayers, spiritual memories and a sense of fulfillment after completing one of the most significant journeys of their lives.
