Peshawar: Medical students from the Professional College of Medical Sciences (PCMS), 5th Semester MLT, visited the Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassaemia and Hemophilia Center in Peshawar on Tuesday to observe its healthcare and welfare operations.
The visit, accompanied by Head of Department Madam Sheema, provided students with an opportunity to understand the working model of the foundation and its role in providing treatment and support to patients suffering from blood-related disorders.
During the visit, Medical Officer Dr. Tayyaba Waheed briefed the delegation on the services offered by the foundation, including the provision of screened blood, blood products, iron chelation therapy, and nutritional support for patients.
The students toured different sections of the center and interacted with children receiving treatment for thalassaemia and hemophilia, as well as their families. They were informed that the facility supports dozens of patients daily through services funded entirely by public donations and charitable contributions.
Faculty members and students appreciated the efforts of Hamza Foundation, praising its continued commitment to providing free healthcare services to patients across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The visit concluded with acknowledgment of the foundation’s role in supporting vulnerable patients and raising awareness among future healthcare professionals about community-based medical care.
