SYLHET: Pakistan head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed said the team management will finalise the playing XI after the toss ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh national cricket team in Sylhet.

Speaking before the match, Sarfaraz acknowledged Pakistan’s disappointment following the defeat in the opening Test but said the team atmosphere remained positive as preparations continued for the second fixture.

“The environment in the team is good. We have moved on from the past and are focused on a comeback in the second Test,” he said.

Sarfaraz praises Babar Azam’s form

Sarfaraz said weather conditions were beyond the team’s control but added that Pakistan were prepared to play quality cricket regardless of the situation.

He also praised Babar Azam, saying the batter had shown strong form in the Pakistan Super League and appeared improved both technically and mentally.

“We are happy with Babar Azam’s return. He looks better technically and mentally,” the head coach said.

Responding to criticism from former players and social media discussions, Sarfaraz said criticism was a normal part of the game when results do not go in a team’s favour.

“We know that criticism comes when you don’t perform well. We are not paying much attention to social media,” he added.

Sarfaraz stressed the importance of discipline with both bat and ball in Test cricket and expressed hope that Pakistan would deliver a stronger performance in the second Test.
