ISLAMABAD, April 24: Seyed Abbas Araghchi is arriving in Islamabad late Friday with a delegation, as Pakistan steps up efforts to facilitate a possible second round of US-Iran peace talks.

The visit comes amid renewed diplomatic activity aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran, with Islamabad positioning itself as a mediator in efforts to revive dialogue.

According to state-run Pakistan Television Corporation, the Iranian delegation will first hold consultations with Pakistani officials before any potential talks between Washington and Tehran.

Government sources said discussions will focus on the regional situation and prospects for renewed negotiations. A second round of talks between the United States and Iran could follow, although no formal schedule has been confirmed.

Officials also indicated that a U.S. logistics and security team is already present in Islamabad to support arrangements for possible negotiations.

Earlier on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Araghchi to discuss ongoing diplomatic efforts and regional developments.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged both sides to pursue dialogue, emphasizing that sustained diplomatic engagement could help reduce tensions and create space for meaningful negotiations.

Islamabad has reiterated its willingness to support peaceful efforts aimed at resolving disputes through dialogue rather than escalation.
