TEHRAN: Iran has described Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s visit as highly fruitful and beneficial, saying the engagement produced valuable diplomatic achievements whose results are expected to become evident soon.
Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, an official associated with the Iranian presidential office, said reports casting doubt on the outcome of the visit were misleading.
In a statement shared on X, Tabatabaei said the visit of Field Marshal Asim Munir, whom he described as the commander of the army of the friendly country of Pakistan, had been “highly fruitful” and marked by significant diplomatic achievements.
He said the results of those diplomatic efforts would become apparent in the near future.
The statement came after Field Marshal Asim Munir concluded his visit to Iran, where he held high-level engagements with the Iranian leadership.
According to the Iranian side, the visit was not only productive but also carried diplomatic significance for relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Tabatabaei’s remarks also rejected what he described as misguided media speculation surrounding the visit, maintaining that the talks had delivered meaningful outcomes.
The comments add to indications from Tehran that the visit was viewed positively by the Iranian leadership and formed part of wider diplomatic engagement between the two neighbouring countries.
