ISLAMABAD: Ignite National Technology Fund and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication will host the Indus RAS Expo 2026 in Islamabad on July 22 and 23, bringing together government institutions, technology companies, universities, startups and researchers working in robotics and autonomous systems.
The two-day national technology exhibition will be held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre and will focus on strengthening Pakistan’s robotics ecosystem, developing local talent and accelerating the use of autonomous technologies in defence, agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and public services.
Organisers said the Indus RAS Expo 2026 would provide a platform for local innovators and research institutions to display indigenous products, prototypes and applied technologies while building partnerships between academia, industry and the public sector.
Robotics, drones and industrial automation on display
The exhibition will feature technologies related to defence robotics, drones, industrial automation, maritime autonomous systems, agritech, Physical AI, human-machine collaboration and artificial intelligence-based decision support systems.
Universities, research organisations, technology companies, startups and public-sector institutions are expected to present locally developed solutions, research projects and live demonstrations.
The event will also include the RAS Innovation Challenge and the RoboWars Competition, where students, engineers and startups will demonstrate robotics, drone and autonomous system projects before a panel of industry experts.
An Immersive Experience Dome will offer interactive storytelling and 360-degree digital presentations aimed at explaining the potential applications of emerging technologies.
Government highlights investment in emerging technologies
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said robotics and autonomous systems were becoming important drivers of industrial modernisation, economic competitiveness and national resilience.
She said the exhibition reflected the government’s focus on supporting local talent, research and entrepreneurship while creating opportunities for Pakistani innovators to develop globally competitive technologies.
Ignite Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Bilal Abbasi said collaboration between government, academia and industry was necessary to help convert research into commercially viable products.
He said the expo was intended to strengthen those links and provide innovators with a national platform to demonstrate technologies that could support Pakistan’s future development.
Expo linked to broader Indus AI initiative
The exhibition is being organised as part of the broader Indus AI initiative launched in February 2026.
Ignite is organising the event in collaboration with the National Centre of Robotics and Automation and the NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
The expo will remain open to visitors on both days, while participants can register through the event’s official website.
