A senior Pakistani security official held an important meeting with media influencers to discuss regional security, India-Pakistan relations and the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir, according to security sources. The briefing centered on what officials described as India’s domestic challenges, regional policies and their implications for peace and stability in South Asia.

According to security sources, the official said India was attempting to create instability across the region, particularly in Pakistan, to divert attention from its internal issues, while alleging that the Indian leadership remained unwilling to accept prevailing ground realities. The briefing claimed that the growing influence of Hindutva ideology had eroded India’s secular identity, with rising religious intolerance and extremism contributing to deepening divisions within the country.

The official also alleged that the concept of “Akhand Bharat” reflected India’s expansionist ambitions and accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of allowing religious politics to shape the country’s military and governance. According to security sources, the briefing described India’s image as a democratic and progressive state as inconsistent with what it claimed were increasing restrictions on freedom of expression, media freedom and the rights of religious minorities.

During the meeting, the official also raised concerns over the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir, alleging that the territory remained heavily militarized and that its residents continued to face significant restrictions. Security sources further claimed that India frequently blamed Pakistan for various incidents as part of efforts to divert international attention and suppress what they described as indigenous freedom movements.

According to the sources, the briefing maintained that Indian policymakers viewed a stable, prosperous and moderate Pakistan as a strategic challenge, alleging that Indian political leaders and sections of the media regularly promoted narratives targeting Pakistan and its armed forces. The official also claimed that the leadership of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee was pursuing an agenda aligned with Indian interests.

Concluding the meeting, the senior official reaffirmed that Pakistan and its people had never been intimidated by India and would remain committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, stability and national interests, according to security sources.
