Islamabad: Members of the Senate are likely to receive rewards for their reward, which would be expected to be equal to members of the National Assembly (MNA). The Senate Financial Committee is expected to meet next week, during which the panel would probably be approved by the increase in the salaries of the Senate members to 519,000 RS from the existing 150,000 RS next week. Development comes after the financial committee of the National Assembly in a rare unity between the Ministry of Finance and the opposition benches approved a proposal to increase the salaries of MNA to 519,000 RS per month. However, it would not be an increase in the salaries of the speaker and vice -president. For parliamentary sources, Ayaz Sadiq spokesman has signed a decision of the Financial Commission, an increase in salary that will be valid for years of long hiatus from 1 January 2025. As with the lower house, the salaries of the chairman and the vice -president of the Senate are likely to increase. Sources say that the Senate Financial Committee was originally established at a meeting on Friday, but the meeting was caused by a foreign visit to the President of the Senate Yusuf Raza Gilani. Upon returning, the Committee would convene after consultation with the Deputy Prime Minister and the leader of the house Ishaq Dar and the leader of the opposition of Shibli Faraz, the sources added that the panel would then ask for increased salaries. Improvement of a package of senators’ remuneration, as with MNA, would also be effective from 1 January.
