The Government of Pakistan has decided in principle to introduce a doorstep passport delivery service, a move aimed at making passport collection more convenient for citizens and reducing the need for repeated visits to passport offices.

The initiative is expected to modernize passport services through digital systems and provide applicants with direct delivery of their passports at home after the completion of the application process.

According to local media reports, Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on upgrading public services through a digital application platform.

Officials discussed the framework for the new service and finalized the required procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the proposed doorstep passport delivery system.

The initiative is intended to reduce long queues and administrative delays while improving access to passport services across the country.

Authorities said the digital system will help streamline passport processing and enhance transparency once fully implemented. Further details regarding the launch timeline and operational rollout are expected to be announced in the coming months.
