LOWER DIR: Havaldar Alamgir Khan, a member of the Pakistan Army from the Talaash Valley area of Lower Dir, was laid to rest with full military honors after losing his life in a helicopter crash in the Muzaffarabad sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on June 10.
According to local sources, Havaldar Alamgir Khan was among the military personnel who died when the helicopter crashed during an operational flight. His funeral prayers were attended by senior military officials, civil administration representatives, police officers, political and religious leaders, and a large number of local residents.
Military Honors at Funeral
The body of Havaldar Alamgir Khan was brought to his native area wrapped in Pakistan’s national flag.
A Pakistan Army contingent presented a guard of honor before the burial, while participants paid tribute to his service and dedication to the country.
He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in the Shamshi Khan Talaash area of Lower Dir.
Career in the Pakistan Army
Havaldar Alamgir Khan received his early education in his native village before completing his secondary and higher secondary studies in the Talaash area.
He later joined the Pakistan Army and served in the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) Corps. During his military career, he was posted at various stations and also participated in operational assignments.
According to local accounts, he was serving with 21 Army Aviation and was performing duties as a Crew Chief at the time of the incident.
Community Mourns Loss
Residents of the Talaash Valley expressed grief over his death and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
Local community members described him as a dedicated soldier who served the country with commitment and professionalism throughout his military career.
He is survived by his family members, including his brothers and close relatives, who received condolences from people across the region following the funeral
