LAHORE: Actress Momina Iqbal has rejected allegations made against her and her sister by PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar, calling the claims false and questioning the authenticity of the evidence presented during a viral interview.
Following the interview, Momina responded through an Instagram Story and shared a video from the wedding reception of the host who interviewed Chadhar.
The actress alleged that the podcast was conducted with the host, whom she described as the politician’s friend, and claimed that the evidence presented during the interview was shown to the host for verification.
Momina questioned why the alleged evidence was not presented publicly if the allegations were being made in public. She said the public should have been shown the evidence so that people could make their own judgment about whether the claims were true or false.
She further claimed that restrictions imposed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) prevented her from making certain material public. Momina alleged that she possessed voice notes and recorded phone calls involving Chadhar and his wife, adding that she could otherwise have released them.
The actress said she had faith in Allah despite the controversy.
Allegation by Momina’s Husband
Meanwhile, Hamza Habib, identified as Momina Iqbal’s husband, made a serious allegation against Saqib Chadhar in an Instagram Story.
Hamza claimed that after attempts to win people over had failed, arrangements were allegedly being made to hire shooters to kill him and Momina.
The allegations made by both sides have not been independently verified, and no evidence substantiating the claims was provided in the material supplied.
