Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given deputy commissioners (DCs) three days to improve conditions at government hospitals across the province, warning officials against negligence in public service delivery.

The deadline was announced during a review meeting chaired by the chief minister to assess the performance of deputy commissioners and review administrative matters across Punjab.

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz directed deputy commissioners to ensure visible improvements in hospital facilities and healthcare services within three days.

She also ordered officials to ensure 100 per cent control over the burning of crop residues, stressing the need for effective measures to prevent smog and air pollution.

The chief minister further instructed district administrations to ensure that all streetlights and manholes across their respective areas remain fully functional.

Emphasising accountability, Maryam Nawaz said negligence by deputy commissioners directly damages her reputation, urging officials to fulfil their responsibilities efficiently.

She directed district administrations to improve public services and ensure effective implementation of government policies at the grassroots level.
