Emirates has launched Comprehensive Travel Cover, a new travel insurance product that offers expanded protection for passengers, including medical cover for conflict-related incidents and airline-managed support during travel disruptions.
The airline said the product is available from June 18, 2026, and can be purchased through emirates.com at the time of booking or added to existing bookings through Manage Booking. The cover is supported by Travel Guard and is aimed at giving passengers broader protection when travel plans are affected by disruptions.
According to Emirates, the new travel cover includes support in situations such as airspace closures, flight disruptions and conflict-related interruptions. Where Emirates services are unavailable or a customer’s itinerary includes connecting flights on other airlines, the airline said it will rebook disrupted passengers to their destination at no additional cost, including in cases where flights are cancelled due to conflict-related disruption.
The airline said the product also includes airline-managed hotel accommodation and extended-stay support during certain disruption scenarios. These measures are in addition to existing customer support options, including free date changes for tickets booked from April 2 and the option to hold a fare for 24 hours free of charge.
Emirates President Sir Tim Clark said the airline introduced the product after receiving customer feedback about the need for broader travel insurance protection.
“Travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover,” he said, adding that Emirates worked with Travel Guard to offer enhanced protection for a wider range of situations.
Russel Antonio, Head of Global Business and Partnerships at Travel Guard, said the new product was developed through the company’s long-standing collaboration with Emirates and was intended to respond to the needs of today’s travellers.
Emirates said the new insurance product is available at an accessible premium and is designed to support customers travelling to, from and through Dubai.
