ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries (ICSTSI) and the Rawalpindi Islamabad Distribution Association (RIDA) jointly organised an Independence Day programme at the Business Incubation Centre of the International Islamic University Islamabad, combining national celebrations with discussions on entrepreneurship, business development and support for young entrepreneurs.
The event also featured a tree plantation activity led by chief guest Muhammad Awais Satti, President of ICSTSI.
Head of the Business Incubation Centre Dr Mirza Ahsan attended the programme along with representatives of the business and traders’ community from Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Business Leaders Discuss Youth Entrepreneurship
Participants discussed entrepreneurship, business incubation, opportunities for young entrepreneurs and ways to strengthen cooperation between educational institutions and the business community.
Speakers stressed the need to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with practical guidance, mentorship, market opportunities and modern incubation facilities.
They said stronger support for young businesspeople could help encourage enterprise creation, strengthen the private sector and contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth.
Traders, Business Representatives Attend Event
Among those attending were Sheikh Tayyab Saeed, Senior Vice President; Sardar Zaheer Ahmed, Vice President; Zahid Qureshi, President Pakistan Business Forum; Aqeel Abbasi, President RIDA; Ahmed Ali Abbasi, senior trader leader from F-10; Jameel Abbasi, member of Trader Ittehad Group, Blue Area; and Rao Muhammad Javed, Executive Committee Member.
Other prominent members of the local business community also participated in the programme.
The event concluded with a shared commitment by participating organisations and business representatives to hold more initiatives aimed at supporting traders, entrepreneurs and the emerging business community.
