ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) held a ceremony in Islamabad to mark one year since Marka-e-Haq, with officials paying tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, martyrs and veterans for their role during the conflict.
The event was attended by BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid, Secretary Amir Ali Ahmed, senior officers and employees. National songs, patriotic performances and tributes to the armed forces were presented during the ceremony.

Addressing participants, Senator Rubina Khalid said the nation salutes the sacrifices of martyrs, veterans and soldiers who defended the country. She said Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos remains a source of national pride and described recent peace talks held in Islamabad as an important diplomatic development.
She also said Pakistan’s international image and identity had strengthened in the aftermath of Marka-e-Haq.
BISP Secretary Amir Ali Ahmed said Pakistan’s armed forces stood united during the conflict and played a key role in defending the country. He added that the developments following Marka-e-Haq had strengthened Pakistan’s position at the international level.

The ceremony concluded with participants expressing solidarity with the armed forces and appreciation for national unity during the conflict.
