BISP Issues Important Deadline for Women Beneficiaries Across Pakistan

SKARDU: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid has urged women beneficiaries to obtain free mobile SIMs before June 15 as the programme transitions to a digital wallet-based payment system aimed at improving transparency and financial inclusion.

During a visit to the BISP Zonal Office in Skardu on Monday, Senator Rubina Khalid met women beneficiaries, reviewed issues related to stipend disbursements, and assured participants that their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis.

The BISP digital wallet system is being introduced to streamline payments and allow beneficiaries to receive financial assistance directly through digital accounts. According to BISP, eligible women are being provided free mobile SIMs to facilitate account registration and future payments.

Senator Rubina Khalid said the shift to digital payments is being implemented in line with the directives of the President of Pakistan and the vision of the Prime Minister to make the payment process more transparent, convenient, and secure.

She advised beneficiaries to complete the SIM registration process before June 15, 2026, to avoid disruptions in receiving payments under the programme.

Direct payments through digital accounts

Under the new system, beneficiaries will be able to receive funds directly in their digital wallets and withdraw payments from nearby bank facilitation centers.

During her visit, the BISP chairperson also inspected different sections of the zonal office and reviewed operational challenges faced by women receiving assistance through the programme.

Focus on women’s financial inclusion

Senator Rubina Khalid said BISP continues to modernize its service delivery mechanisms to ensure dignified and efficient financial support for women across Pakistan.

She noted that the programme, named after former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, remains focused on supporting low-income families and strengthening women’s access to financial resources through technology-based solutions.
