RAWALPINDI, September 14: Pakistan and Lebanon on Monday discussed ways to deepen bilateral security cooperation, strengthen institutional links and expand coordination between their security institutions during a meeting at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al Hajjar, who is on a two-day visit to Pakistan, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security environment and prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations in the security domain.
The meeting also focused on improving institutional linkages and fostering greater cooperation between the security institutions of Pakistan and Lebanon.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Lebanon and expressed a desire to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Ahmad Al Hajjar appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
