LAHORE, September 14, 2026: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) Disciplinary Committee has suspended the registrations of 15 doctors for six months following allegations of participating in strikes and negligence during their duties.
The action came after the Punjab government referred cases against the 15 doctors to the PMDC.
According to the available information, the doctors were accused of disrupting patient treatment, closing outpatient departments (OPDs) and participating in strikes, resulting in interruptions to healthcare services.
The PMDC Disciplinary Committee reviewed the available records and evidence before reaching its decision.
Of the 15 doctors, 10 appeared before the disciplinary committee, while five remained absent during the proceedings.
The PMDC has forwarded its decision to the Punjab Health Department for further action.
The suspension is part of disciplinary proceedings concerning alleged professional conduct violations and disruptions to medical services.
