VANCOUVER, September 11, 2026: Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk is safe after a shooting incident in British Columbia, Canada, although early reports linked a bulletproof vehicle involved in the incident to his concert convoy.
According to Indian media reports, gunfire was reported near McCallum Road in Abbotsford at around 11 p.m. on September 5. Police were alerted after a vehicle was reportedly struck by seven bullets. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Father clarifies Ammy Virk was not targeted
Ammy Virk’s father, Kuljit Singh, has denied reports suggesting that the singer or his vehicle came under attack. He said his son was safe and indicated that the vehicle involved may have been connected to the concert organizers rather than the singer.
Police have not publicly established who was targeted in the shooting or confirmed whether Ammy Virk was directly connected to the incident.
Police investigate second vehicle fire
A separate incident was reported shortly afterward in the nearby Sunnyside Place area, where police found a vehicle that had been completely destroyed by fire.
Authorities are investigating whether the vehicle fire is connected to the earlier shooting. No official determination linking the two incidents has been reported so far.
The incident occurred following an Ammy Virk concert in the area, prompting reports about a possible connection to the singer’s entourage. However, his father’s statement has clarified that the reports of an attack targeting Ammy Virk himself were inaccurate.
