MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has responded to social media speculation about an alleged relationship with Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya, dismissing claims that the two are romantically involved.
Patel and Pandya were recently seen together at a private gathering at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace, where the actress appeared to introduce the cricketer to some of her friends. A video from the event subsequently went viral on social media.
A social media user reshared the video and claimed that Patel placing her hand on Pandya’s shoulder was evidence of a possible romantic relationship between the two.
Patel responded to the post by sharing a screenshot on her Instagram Story and sarcastically writing that it was “really very romantic” for her to have placed her hand on Pandya.
She questioned the interpretation of the encounter, saying she did not even know the social media user and suggesting that he may be unfamiliar with ordinary interactions between friends.
Patel’s response comes amid growing online speculation about her association with the Indian cricketer following their appearance together at the Mumbai event.
According to Indian media reports, Pandya is currently romantically linked with model Mahieka Sharma. The cricketer reportedly made his relationship with Sharma public on social media in 2025.
Pandya was previously married to actress and model Natasa Stankovic. The couple later divorced and have a son together.
Patel’s latest remarks appear to reject the dating speculation surrounding her and Pandya, while the viral video continues to attract attention on social media.
