Woman killed, husband injured in motorcycle and tractor-trolley collision in Khanewal

KHANEWAL: A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured after a motorcycle collided with a tractor-trolley near 15 Wala Phatak in Khanewal, rescue officials said on Monday.

According to rescue sources, the accident occurred when a motorcycle travelling from the opposite direction collided with a tractor-trolley. The impact proved fatal for the woman riding on the motorcycle, while her husband sustained serious injuries.

The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Irshad Bibi, while the injured man was identified as 52-year-old Abdul Khaliq.

Victim dies at the scene

Rescue officials said Irshad Bibi died at the scene due to the severity of her injuries. Emergency responders reached the site shortly after the accident and provided assistance to the injured victim.

The body of the deceased and the injured man were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mian Channu for further procedures and medical treatment.

Investigation underway

Hospital sources said Abdul Khaliq is receiving treatment for his injuries.

Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the circumstances that led to the collision. An investigation is expected to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The incident adds to a growing number of road accidents reported across Punjab, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety and traffic management.
