ISLAMABAD: WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature that allows users to save their favourite songs directly from the Status update editor for easier access later.
The feature lets users star songs from WhatsApp’s available music catalogue, allowing them to quickly find and reuse tracks when creating future Status updates.
More Control Over Music in Status
WhatsApp has also added an option to select the duration of music used in a Status update. Users can choose how much of a song they want to include rather than using the track from a fixed starting point.
A waveform selector allows users to move through a song and select a specific section for their Status. This gives users greater control over which part of a track accompanies their photo or video.
The feature gives WhatsApp users access to Meta’s music catalogue while creating Status updates and is designed to make frequently used songs easier to find.
Gradual Rollout Underway
The new feature is being rolled out gradually, meaning it may not be immediately available to all WhatsApp users.
Availability can vary depending on the user’s account, device and version of the application as WhatsApp expands the feature to more users.
