ISLAMABAD: Bookings under Pakistan’s private Hajj scheme have accelerated following intervention and monitoring by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, with 21,547 applications received through the Pak Hajj App, according to the ministry’s spokesperson.
Muhammad Umar Butt said around 50,000 seats are still available under the private Hajj scheme. He advised intending pilgrims to complete their payments through the official Pak Hajj App and warned them against making direct payments to individuals or companies.
Over 2,000 Hajj Packages Available
According to the ministry, more than 2,000 Hajj packages offered by 25 authorised companies are available through the Hajj Portal.
The spokesperson said around Rs18 billion had been transferred through the Hajj Portal to the accounts of authorised companies, with 45 percent of the payments made through digital channels and 55 percent through manual bank challans.
The ministry has set November 20, 2026 as the deadline for registration under the private Hajj scheme through the Hajj Portal.
Pilgrims Warned Against Direct Payments
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has repeatedly advised intending pilgrims to use official channels for Hajj-related payments. Its website currently carries alerts directing pilgrims to use the official Pak Hajj 2027 system and warning against direct payments to private operators.
The spokesperson said private Hajj pilgrims can report complaints through the inquiry option available on the Hajj Portal.
The ministry has also published information on authorised private Hajj companies and related verification services on its official platform.
