Indian actor Saif Ali Khan has shared the details of the incident that occurred at his home with the police. According to Indian media reports, Saif recorded an initial statement to the police in which he explained what happened and how he was injured by the continuous attacks of the assailant.
The actor told the police that on January 16, between 2:30 and 2:40 AM, he heard loud noises from his home. He was in his room on the 12th floor with his wife Kareena when he heard his son Jeh crying and went out of the room.
He reached the 11th floor where his son and his caregiver were. Upon hearing the noise, as soon as he reached Jeh’s room, he saw the caregiver talking loudly to an unknown person.
Saif explained that the man was holding a knife, and sensing danger, he tried to apprehend him. However, shortly after, the man started attacking him. He stabbed Saif in the back, neck, and hands. During this, Jeh and the caregiver managed to exit the room.
The actor said that he somehow managed to subdue the assailant and locked him in the room. Kareena and Jeh were frightened upon seeing Saif bleeding, and he was then taken to the hospital, while the assailant managed to escape.
It is worth mentioning that on January 16, around 3 AM, there was an attempted robbery at Saif Ali Khan’s home in Bandra, Mumbai, which the actor thwarted. During the struggle, Saif was attacked with a knife and sustained six injuries, two of which were deep, and one was near his spine.
