Pakistani actor Muneeb Butt has been declared innocent in a kidnapping and cryptocurrency robbery case after the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) submitted a seven-page interim challan to an anti-terrorism court.
According to the prosecution, the case stems from the alleged abduction of complainant Muhammad Mutaal from Shahrah-e-Faisal on April 23. Investigators allege that the suspects robbed him of cryptocurrency and other valuables worth Rs2.494 million before abandoning him in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area.
Investigation finds no evidence against actor
The interim challan states that Muneeb Butt had been accused of providing accommodation to the suspects in Murree. However, investigators said the allegation could not be substantiated during the course of the investigation.
Based on the available evidence, the AVCC concluded that no evidence was found linking the actor to the alleged offence.
Interim challan names other suspects
According to the investigation report, police official Ghalib has been declared an absconder, while suspects Shahid Sattar, Muhammad Saleem, Aleem, and Wazir Muhammad have been arrested.
The challan further states that Muneeb Butt, Mohsin Rajpar, and Abdul Rehman Chandio are currently on bail as legal proceedings in the case continue.
