The Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA) has issued notices to the owners of 10 under-construction buildings in Malam Jabba as part of an ongoing operation against alleged illegal construction in the tourist destination.
According to the authority, the action followed inspections carried out to verify compliance with approved building regulations, development plans, and the required No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Buildings Inspected During Enforcement Drive
The inspection was conducted by Assistant Director (Technical) Yousaf Shah under the supervision of USDA Director General Shoaib Abbas.
Officials said notices were served to owners of buildings that were allegedly being constructed without the required approvals. At sites where no construction activity was taking place, notices were affixed to the buildings.
According to the USDA, some property owners presented NOCs issued by the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), while legal proceedings were initiated against those who were unable to provide the required documentation.
Authority Vows Continued Action
USDA spokesperson Saeed Ur Rahman said the authority would continue enforcing building regulations and taking action against unauthorized construction in tourist areas without discrimination.
He added that strict implementation of the approved master plan and building by-laws is intended to support sustainable tourism development and orderly urban growth across Upper Swat.
