Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and social figure Fawad Ali Noor handed over a grant cheque, approved by former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai, to the District Bar Association Shangla during a ceremony held at the bar association.
The cheque was received by District Bar Association Shangla President Advocate Suleman Shah along with senior members of the legal fraternity. The grant is expected to support development work, including lawyers’ chambers and parking facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Fawad Ali Noor said the legal community is an important pillar of the justice system and plays a key role in ensuring timely justice for oppressed and underprivileged people.
He said lawyers had also remained active in public and social movements, including the movement for granting district status to Shangla. He added that the legal fraternity had contributed to the district’s development, protection of public rights and institutional improvement.
Fawad Ali Noor said the welfare of lawyers and provision of improved facilities were necessary so they could perform their professional responsibilities more effectively.
He clarified that, as owner of FGC Group of Companies, he had not deducted any amount from the special grant issued for the bar association. He said the support was extended out of respect for the legal community and longstanding relations with the bar.
District Bar Association Shangla President Advocate Suleman Shah thanked Shaukat Yousafzai and Fawad Ali Noor for their continued support.
He said both had shown practical cooperation with the bar association in the past, adding that Fawad Ali Noor had previously extended financial assistance according to the needs of the bar, while Shaukat Yousafzai had also provided grants on different occasions.
Suleman Shah said the latest grant would strengthen ongoing development projects and help provide improved facilities, a better working environment and support for professional activities of lawyers.
Members of the legal fraternity expressed hope that the cooperation of Shaukat Yousafzai and Fawad Ali Noor with the bar association would continue in the coming years.
