Pakistan’s IT exports climbed to a record $4.5 billion during the 2025-26 fiscal year, marking a 29% increase from the previous year’s $3.475 billion, reflecting continued growth in the country’s digital services sector.
The strong performance was driven by expanding demand for software development, business process outsourcing (BPO), software-as-a-service (SaaS), and gaming services. The increase highlights the growing contribution of the technology sector to Pakistan’s export earnings.
Digital Services Fuel Export Growth
According to the report, Pakistan’s IT industry benefited from rising international demand for digital services and the continued expansion of technology companies into new global markets.
Software development, outsourcing services, SaaS solutions and gaming emerged as key contributors to the record export performance.
Expansion Into Asia-Pacific Markets
Pakistani IT companies strengthened their presence in Asia-Pacific markets, including Japan and Singapore, helping boost export revenues during the fiscal year.
Small and medium-sized technology firms also expanded into new international markets, contributing significantly to the sector’s overall growth.
Industry experts said increasing global demand for Pakistan’s digital services, combined with broader market access, played a major role in the rise in IT exports. They added that the sector’s performance reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s technology industry and digital economy.
