ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Ministry on Friday rejected reports circulating on social media and sections of the electronic media claiming that Pakistani nationals are facing targeted or mass deportations from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In an official statement, the ministry said no country-specific or sect-based deportation campaign against Pakistanis is being carried out in the UAE or any other country. It described the reports as “false, malicious and fabricated.”
According to the ministry, deportations carried out by host countries are part of standard immigration and legal procedures related to visa violations, overstays or incomplete documentation, and should not be portrayed as targeted action against Pakistani citizens.
The statement added that Pakistanis who fulfil visa, residency and employment requirements continue to travel to and work in the UAE and other friendly countries without restrictions.
Officials said misinformation surrounding the issue was being spread through social media posts and speculative reporting aimed at creating confusion and serving “ulterior motives.”
The ministry also clarified that any issue involving Pakistani nationals abroad is addressed through established diplomatic and foreign office channels on a case-by-case basis with the relevant authorities.
The UAE remains one of the largest destinations for Pakistani workers and expatriates, with thousands of Pakistanis travelling to the Gulf country each year for employment and business opportunities.
