The event, organized by Own to Run Pakistan, was held at Nishan-e-Pakistan, Sea View, Clifton. The Unity Marathon featured separate races for men, women and children, with participants competing over distances suited to each category.
Races Held for Men, Women and Children
The men’s race covered five kilometres, while women competed over three kilometres. Children aged up to 12 took part in a one-kilometre race.
Hundreds of members of the Christian community participated in the event.
Sindh Sports Secretary Munawar Ali Mahesar attended the event as the chief guest. Other attendees included retired SSP Asif Razaq, former Test cricketer Haroon Rashid, Sohail Sardar, Pastor Javed Noor, district sports officers and other figures associated with sports.
Cash Prizes Distributed Among Winners
Cash prizes were awarded to athletes who secured the top three positions in the men’s and women’s categories. First, second and third-place finishers received Rs50,000, Rs30,000 and Rs20,000, respectively.
In the children’s category, the winners received Rs15,000, Rs10,000 and Rs5,000 for the first three positions.
The event marked an initiative focused on bringing members of the Christian community together through organized sporting activities in Karachi.
