Mineral water sale at DHQ Hospital Timergara was suspended after a public complaint, with samples sent for laboratory testing.

Authorities have suspended the sale of mineral water at the canteen of District Headquarters Hospital Timergara after a public complaint raised concerns about its quality.

The action was taken on the directions of DHQ Hospital Timergara Chief Executive Officer and Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr Abrar Ahmad in coordination with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority.

During the inspection, a team from the Food Safety Authority collected samples of the mineral water being sold at the hospital canteen. The samples were sent to the State Laboratory in Peshawar for detailed testing.

Officials said the sale of the mineral water would remain suspended until the laboratory report is received. Further legal action will be taken in light of the test results.

As part of the same public health monitoring effort, water samples were also collected from different schools and tested on-site through a mobile laboratory.

Schools whose water samples were found unsatisfactory were directed to install water filtration systems and ensure proper cleaning of water storage tanks within 15 days.

Officials said the measures are aimed at ensuring safe drinking water in healthcare facilities and educational institutions.

They said inspections and follow-up action would continue to protect public health and improve access to clean drinking water in Timergara.
