Layyah police have apprehended 525 proclaimed offenders including several suspects involved in serious and violent crimes. They included 58 Category-A offenders—individuals wanted in high-profile and heinous cases—whose capture had long posed a significant challenge to law enforcement. In addition, 467 Category-B proclaimed offenders were also arrested, reflecting the consistency and organization of the ongoing operations.
DPO Layyah Muhammad Ali Wasim said that police have adopted an aggressive policy against criminal elements. He emphasized that police personnel, through tireless efforts, use of modern technology, intelligence-based operations and support from informed local sources succeeded in tracing and apprehending these fugitives. He added that ensuring public safety and eliminating crime remains the top priority of the police force.
As a result of this stellar performance, Layyah district now stands at the forefront in South Punjab in terms of arrests of proclaimed offenders. This achievement not only highlights the professional competence and dedication of Layyah Police but also reflects the practical implementation of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of transforming Punjab into a safe, peaceful, and crime-free province.
This success story illustrates that with committed political leadership and a dedicated police force, the elimination of crime is indeed possible. Layyah Police’s progress serves as a positive example for other districts across Punjab, proving that with hard work, discipline, modern strategies, and community collaboration, even the most entrenched criminal networks can be brought to justice.
