RAHIM YAR KHAN: A lecturer at Khawaja Fareed University has been accused by a female student of alleged harassment, inappropriate WhatsApp messages and pressuring her to meet him. Screenshots of the alleged conversations have also circulated on social media.
The student has alleged that the lecturer offered academic incentives, including marks and grades, and allegedly threatened academic consequences if she refused to meet him. She also claimed that she had retained records of the alleged communications and had informed the university’s vice chancellor by email.
University Forms Inquiry Committee
The university administration has formed an inquiry committee to examine the allegations circulating on social media.
According to the administration, a formal complaint will be investigated under the university’s rules and procedures, with necessary action to be taken based on the findings.
WhatsApp Screenshots Circulate Online
Screenshots purportedly showing WhatsApp exchanges between the lecturer and the student have been shared widely on social media. The authenticity and full context of the screenshots have not been independently verified.
