Muzaffarabad: Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir paid tribute to the martyrs of Zakura and Tengpura area of Srinagar happened in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on 1st March 1990.
According to statement issued to media, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali has said that the unforgivable crimes of the Indian soldiers participating in the Zakura and Tengpura massacres is an open challenge to the institutions that talk about peace, justice and human rights around the world.
He said that 35 years ago on the same day, Indian forces killed 47 innocent civilians in Zakora and Tengpura areas of Srinagar.
Uzair maintained that Indian soldiers fired indiscriminately on innocent civilians and killed 47 people and hundreds of civilians were injured.
While expressing regret over this massacre, he said that the Indian soldiers involved in this terrorist act have not been held accountable till date.
“The wounds of this painful tragedy are still present in the minds of the Kashmiri people”, he lamented.
He further said that there is no disciplinary action taken against these Indian soldiers due to which they are free to kill anyone, anywhere in occupied Kashmir particularly those who raise their voice for the implementation to UNSC resolutions.
He said that the Indian government used force to crush the resistance of the Kashmiri people but failed always.
Ghazali said that today the people of Kashmir remember to these innocent martyrs and reiterate their determination that they will continue to fight for the freedom of their beloved Kashmir from Indian oppression.
Uzair added that the Delhi government’s killing of Kashmiri citizens in massacres like Zakura and Tengpura are part of the ongoing genocide campaign by India in the occupied territory.
He cautioned that India is on the worst path of turning a Muslim majority state into a minority state.
He demanded the international human rights organization and United Nations to work for the implementation of UNSC resolutions on Kashmir before long.
