ISLAMABAD, May 7: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of appeals filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi against their convictions in the 190 million pound case until May 20.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif heard the case in Islamabad.
During the proceedings, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Special Prosecutors Javed Arshad and Rafi Maqsood appeared before the court.
Barrister Salman Safdar, counsel for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, did not appear before the bench. His associate lawyer, Sarmad Muneeb, informed the court that a request seeking adjournment had been filed.
The court directed the lawyer to read out the contents of the application and later accepted the request to postpone the hearing.
Court grants final opportunity for arguments
The bench granted what it described as a final opportunity for arguments in the appeals against the convictions in the 190 million pound case.
Following the adjournment request, the Islamabad High Court postponed further proceedings until May 20.
