The family of Dr Mah Noor, who was injured in an acid attack in Quetta, has said that her eyesight remains unaffected and that she is fully conscious as she continues to receive medical treatment.

Speaking to a private television channel, family members said Dr Mah Noor is alert, able to communicate, and showing signs of recovery under the supervision of a team of specialist doctors.

According to her family, the burn injuries sustained in the attack are largely superficial in nature. Medical teams are currently carrying out procedures to remove damaged skin from the affected areas as part of her ongoing treatment.

Treatment and surgeries continue

The family said doctors are conducting skin grafting procedures in stages, depending on her medical condition and treatment requirements.

They added that Dr Mah Noor’s vision has been preserved and that medical experts remain closely involved in monitoring her progress.

The update comes amid public concern following the acid attack, which drew widespread condemnation and renewed calls for stronger measures against gender-based violence.
