SIALKOT, June 4: Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Ms. Saba Asghar visited Sialkot International Airport (SIAL) and reviewed its operations, facilities and contribution to regional economic development during an official visit on Thursday.
The deputy commissioner was received by SIAL Chairman Hassan Ali Bhatti, Vice Chairman Waqas Afzal and the airport’s chief executive officer. Assistant Commissioner Sambrial Adnan Warraich was also present during the visit.
During a detailed briefing, airport officials highlighted SIAL’s operational capabilities, modern infrastructure and its role in strengthening regional and national connectivity. The briefing also focused on the airport’s contribution to trade, business activities, overseas Pakistani travel and economic growth in the region.
Chairman Hassan Ali Bhatti acknowledged the support provided by the District Administration and the Government of Punjab in facilitating the airport’s operations and development initiatives.

Speaking during the visit, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar commended the airport’s contribution to serving the people of Sialkot and surrounding areas through improved travel and business opportunities.
She said the airport has become an important gateway connecting the region with domestic and international destinations while supporting commercial and trade activities.
The deputy commissioner described Sialkot International Airport as a valuable national asset and noted its strategic importance to Pakistan’s aviation and economic sectors.
Public-private success story
Ms. Asghar also praised the business community of Sialkot for its role in establishing and successfully operating the airport, calling it a notable example of public-private collaboration.
Officials from both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between SIAL and the district administration to support future development projects and enhance services for passengers and businesses.
The visit concluded with discussions focused on the continued growth of the airport and its contribution to the broader development of the region.
