On the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir, Muhammad Arif Khan, and under the leadership of District Food Controller Kashif Ehsan, Assistant Food Controller Imran Ali, Food Inspector Azam Khan, and Shabbir Ahmed took action against butchers in Timergara and Mian Banda Bazaar based on public complaints.
Heavy fines were imposed on shopkeepers for the unavailability of official rate lists and selling meat at higher prices. The shopkeepers were strictly instructed to display the official price list prominently and ensure the sale of meat at government-fixed rates.
Various teams of the Food Department, Lower Dir, are actively monitoring different markets on daily basis to ensure the provision of food items at official rates during the blessed month of Ramadan.
