COAS, Iranian Security Chief Discuss Regional Stability and Bilateral Cooperation at GHQ

RAWALPINDI — Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani, met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday to discuss regional security and cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

COAS Highlights Need for Enhanced Pakistan–Iran Security Coordination

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the evolving regional security environment. The COAS reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability and stressed the importance of deepening security cooperation with Iran, particularly in countering terrorism and confronting shared threats.

Mr. Larijani acknowledged Pakistan’s significant role in promoting peace across the region and expressed Iran’s desire to further strengthen bilateral ties. He emphasised that sustained dialogue and practical cooperation would enable both countries to address challenges more effectively.

Strategic Partnership Seen as Key to Regional Stability

The two dignitaries agreed on the need to expand strategic engagement in view of shifting geopolitical dynamics. Both sides underscored that long-term regional stability depends on coordinated efforts, stronger diplomatic engagement, and consistent security collaboration.
