China-based automaker BYD has released the official image of the Linghui e9, the first model under its newly launched Linghui sub-brand, targeting the ride-hailing and public transportation market. The Linghui e9 electric sedan offers a maximum claimed range of up to 605 kilometers under CLTC testing conditions.
Linghui was officially introduced on February 2 as a dedicated sub-brand focused on public mobility solutions, including taxis, ride-hailing fleets, leasing operators, and government vehicles. The Linghui e9 marks the brand’s first production model as BYD expands its footprint in commercial electric mobility.
Design and dimensions
Based on official images and regulatory filings, the Linghui e9 adopts styling similar to the earlier BYD Han model. The front fascia features a large grille with a chrome dot-matrix pattern and split-style headlights. The Linghui badge appears above a chrome trim strip, while the side profile includes conventional door handles and black-finished alloy wheels.
Tire specifications include 245/50 R18 and 245/45 R19 options. At the rear, the sedan features a full-width taillight design with red reflectors integrated into the bumper. “Linghui EV” and “e9” badges are positioned on the tailgate.

The Linghui e9 measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm or 1,940 mm in width (depending on configuration), and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. These dimensions position it within the mid-to-large sedan segment commonly used for fleet operations.
Powertrain and battery
The Linghui e9 is powered by a front-mounted electric motor available in two output variants: 135 kW (181 horsepower) and 150 kW (201 horsepower). Both configurations are paired with BYD’s Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
Two battery capacities are offered. A 60.5 kWh battery provides a claimed range of 535 kilometers, while a 64.315 kWh battery extends the driving range to 605 kilometers under CLTC standards.
Expanding Linghui lineup
In addition to the e9, three other Linghui models — the e5, e7, and M9 — have appeared in filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The “e” series models are fully electric vehicles, while the M9 is listed as a plug-in hybrid.
The launch of the Linghui e9 signals BYD’s continued focus on electrifying public transportation fleets, a segment that remains central to China’s broader transition toward new energy vehicles.
