The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started implementing its new policy regarding players’ families for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tour.
According to Indian media, the Indian team will participate in the Champions Trophy without their families, and no player will be allowed to bring family members along.
The Indian team is scheduled to leave for Dubai on February 15 to participate in the Champions Trophy.
As per BCCI’s family policy, during tours longer than 45 days, players’ families can stay with them for up to two weeks.
A BCCI official told Indian media that players would not be allowed to bring their wives or any companions on this tour.
When a senior player inquired about the policy, he was informed that the board would strictly adhere to it. Families are not permitted to accompany players on tours shorter than a month.
The official further stated that in exceptional cases, players will have to bear all expenses for their families. BCCI introduced this new family policy after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
