Attock DCC Reviews Law and Order, Traffic Enforcement and Anti-Encroachment Operations

ATTOCK: The District Coordination Committee (DCC) reviewed law and order, traffic management, anti-encroachment operations and other administrative measures during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza at the DC Office.

The meeting was attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Sardar Mawarhan Khan, officers of law enforcement agencies, assistant commissioners, heads of district departments and other relevant officials. Participants reviewed progress on public safety, traffic enforcement, anti-begging operations, action against illegal businesses, madrasa registration, complaints of overseas Pakistanis and the repatriation of illegal foreigners.

Over 6,200 Traffic Violations Challaned

Officials informed the meeting that during May 2026, authorities issued 6,203 challans for traffic violations and collected more than Rs11.7 million in fines.

Police and district administration also conducted extensive checks on major highways and entry and exit routes across the district. During these operations, 14,212 suspicious vehicles were inspected, nine suspects were arrested and eight cases were registered.

Crackdown on Illegal Petrol Pumps and LPG Decanting

The meeting was told that 31 illegal petrol pumps were sealed during enforcement operations, while fines totaling Rs32,500 were imposed.

Authorities also intensified action against illegal LPG decanting. During the campaign, 53 violations were detected, 64 points were sealed, seven cases were registered and fines amounting to Rs135,000 were recovered.

Anti-Encroachment and Electricity Theft Operations

Officials reported that anti-encroachment teams removed 15 permanent and 915 temporary encroachments during the reporting period. The campaign resulted in fines of Rs420,000.

In operations against electricity theft, 19 illegal connections were detected, 12 cases were registered and 10 individuals were arrested. Authorities recovered fines and penalties worth more than Rs1.08 million.

Progress on Madrasa Registration and Overseas Complaints

The meeting was informed that Attock district has 493 madrasas, of which 199 are registered. Geo-tagging of 28 madrasas has been completed, while officials were directed to accelerate the registration process for unregistered institutions.

Regarding overseas Pakistanis, officials said 393 complaints had been received through the designated dashboard, with 336 complaints successfully resolved.

Anti-Begging Campaign and Repatriation of Illegal Foreigners

During the briefing, officials said six special teams conducted anti-begging operations and detained 20 professional beggars.

The committee also reviewed the repatriation of illegal foreigners. According to the briefing, 30,394 illegal foreigners have been repatriated from Attock district in different phases, while 40 individuals are currently being housed at a holding center.

Officials Stress Improved Coordination

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza directed all departments to ensure prompt resolution of public issues, maintain law and order and strengthen enforcement efforts in line with Punjab government directives.

He emphasized the need for more effective inter-agency coordination and practical measures to improve public service delivery.

DPO Sardar Mawarhan Khan said police and law enforcement agencies were continuing operations to maintain peace, prevent crime and protect citizens’ lives and property. He added that monitoring and surveillance of sensitive locations were being further strengthened.
