RAWALPINDI: Syed Asim Munir on Sunday said Pakistan’s armed forces would never bow to threats or external pressure while addressing a special ceremony held to mark the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

Senior military leadership, including Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Admiral Naveed Ashraf, attended the event alongside senior officials from all three armed services.

The ceremony began with floral wreaths being laid at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honour military personnel who lost their lives in service of the country. Contingents from the army, navy and air force also presented formal salutes.

Addressing the gathering, Munir said the confrontation from May 6 to May 10 tested Pakistan’s national resolve and unity but the country responded with determination and operational capability.

He said Pakistan would not compromise on its sovereignty, territorial integrity or national dignity, adding that the armed forces remained fully prepared to respond to any external aggression.
