Military chiefs congratulate nation on first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s top military leadership on Saturday congratulated the nation and members of the armed forces on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, describing the operation as a symbol of national resolve, military professionalism and unity.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu extended heartfelt congratulations to the public and all ranks of the armed forces on the anniversary of the operation.

The military leadership said the occasion was being observed with “reverence, gratitude and national fervour,” while ceremonies were being held across the country to honour martyrs and veterans. Floral wreaths were laid at martyrs’ memorials and prayers were offered for personnel who sacrificed their lives in service of the country.

According to the statement, Marka-e-Haq became a “defining landmark” in Pakistan’s national journey and reflected the country’s strategic maturity and operational capability. The military said Pakistan’s response during the operation countered adversarial narratives, disinformation campaigns and hybrid threats.

The statement added that the armed forces demonstrated operational preparedness across land, air, sea, cyber and information domains, while strengthening public confidence in the country’s defence capabilities.

Armed forces reaffirm commitment to security

The military leadership reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and promoting peace and stability in South Asia through dialogue, mutual respect and adherence to international law.

The statement said the armed forces remained fully prepared to confront internal and external challenges with the support of the nation.
