Former Pakistani television actress Arij Fatyma has shared a personal update with her followers, reflecting on her life after leaving the entertainment industry and revealing how a major health challenge changed her outlook.
In a recent social media post, Fatyma introduced herself to newer followers and spoke about her background, career and life in the United States.
She said she was born in North Carolina and has Pakistani, Indian and Iranian heritage. After spending more than a decade in Pakistan, where she worked as a television actress, she eventually moved back to the US to focus on starting and raising her family.
From television to digital content
After stepping away from acting, Fatyma said she worked as a social media director and account executive at a company before moving into content creation and social media.
She now lives a quieter suburban life in Ohio, where she balances family responsibilities, work and content creation.
Fatyma left the Pakistani entertainment industry in 2019, following a successful television career that included dramas such as Hassad, Aik Pal, Aap Kay Liye and Humnasheen.
Reveals battle with rare cancer
Fatyma also opened up about being diagnosed with choriocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
She previously revealed that the disease was detected at an early stage and that she underwent major surgery during her treatment. She has since described herself as cancer-free but said she will continue undergoing follow-up testing for years to monitor her health.
The former actress has encouraged her followers to take their health seriously, undergo regular medical check-ups and seek professional medical advice rather than relying on home remedies when something appears to be wrong.
A new chapter in life
Fatyma’s latest message offers a glimpse into a life that has moved far beyond the television industry. From acting in Pakistani dramas to working in corporate social media and becoming a digital creator, she said she is now focused on balancing family, work and her online presence.
Her experience with cancer, she has said, also changed her perspective on life and encouraged her to live more intentionally
