According to locals and rescue officials, the bodies of two of the six people who drowned in the incident have been recovered and have been identified as 12-year-old Eshal and 35-year-old Farman. Three people were rescued alive by timely action, while the search for nine-year-old Daniyal continued on the second day, but no success has been found so far. On the other hand, the funeral prayers of the deceased were offered in Nawan Kalay Rustam, which was attended by a large number of relatives, local people and political and social figures. There is chaos in the area and every eye is in tears. The affected family and local people expressed their deep grief and anger over the incident and severely criticized the government and rescue agencies. They said that if the rescue teams had reached on time, such a big tragedy would not have happened.

They said that every facility is available for the Chief Minister’s own sit-ins, meetings and politics, but there is nothing here to protect the lives and property of the people. Many precious lives are lost every year due to the lack of proper safety arrangements on the river banks and the lack of awareness campaigns at the local level. Citizens have demanded that the government take immediate safety measures at other dangerous places including the Swat River to avoid such tragic incidents in the future.
