ISLAMABAD: Zong 5G has received two national technology awards, earning recognition for its digital marketing campaign and an artificial intelligence-based network optimization platform developed by its in-house engineering team.
The company won the Pakistan Digital Award for Best Social Media Campaign (Meta) for its My Zong App campaign and also received a Made in Pakistan Tech Excellence Award for its Self-Intelligent RAN Optimization Platform. The recognition highlights Zong 5G’s efforts in customer engagement and network technology development.
The My Zong App campaign was recognized for its digital marketing strategy aimed at improving customer engagement and promoting the company’s digital services. According to Zong, the campaign focused on providing users with a more personalized and convenient digital experience through a single platform.
Commenting on the achievement, Sajid Munir, Head of Marketing at Zong 5G, said the company continues to invest in emerging technologies, including 5G and artificial intelligence, to improve customer experiences and digital connectivity.
AI-powered network platform earns technology award
Zong 5G was also recognized for its Self-Intelligent RAN Optimization Platform, described by the company as Pakistan’s first Level 4 autonomous closed-loop network optimization system deployed on a live commercial network.
According to the company, the platform was developed by Zong engineers within six months and uses artificial intelligence and automation to identify and address network congestion. Zong stated that the system has reduced network issue resolution times by more than 90 percent and improved peak-hour downlink throughput by up to 18 percent.
Ali Waqas, Executive Director IT at Zong 5G, said the dual recognition reflects the company’s focus on digital transformation through customer-focused services and advanced network technologies.

The company said the awards reflect its broader strategy of expanding digital products and services while integrating AI and automation into its operations.
Industry observers note that the growing adoption of AI-powered technologies and advanced mobile networks is becoming increasingly important as Pakistan continues its digital transformation efforts.
The recognition of both the My Zong App campaign and the AI-driven network platform highlights the role of technology innovation in enhancing customer experiences and improving telecommunications infrastructure in Pakistan.
