Zong enables 5G support on iPhones in Pakistan with latest iOS update

ISLAMABAD, May 12: Zong has officially enabled 5G services on iPhones in Pakistan through Apple’s latest iOS 26.5 update, allowing users to access 5G connectivity on the company’s network.

The development marks a significant step in Pakistan’s digital connectivity landscape as telecom operators continue preparing for wider adoption of next-generation mobile internet services.

According to the company, iPhone users in Pakistan can now access Zong’s 5G network after updating their devices to the latest iOS version.

The company said the move is aimed at improving high-speed connectivity and supporting the growing demand for faster mobile internet services, digital applications, and emerging technologies.

Focus on digital connectivity and network expansion

In a statement, Zong said the development reflects broader efforts to modernize Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and expand access to advanced telecom technologies.

The company also acknowledged the role of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication in supporting digital connectivity initiatives and telecom sector development.

Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja was also mentioned by the company for supporting policies aimed at accelerating Pakistan’s digital transformation.

Speaking on the development, Zong Head of Marketing Sajid Munir said the official activation of 5G services on iPhones represents an important milestone for Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.

He added that the company would continue investing in network technologies, digital services, and infrastructure aimed at improving customer experience and supporting future connectivity needs.

The latest announcement comes as Pakistan’s telecom sector moves closer toward broader 5G adoption following the country’s recent spectrum auction and infrastructure expansion efforts.
