PESHAWAR: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited has inaugurated a new 7.4 million litre motor gasoline storage tank at its Tarru Jabba terminal in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, marking a major investment aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s fuel storage capacity and energy supply infrastructure.
The newly developed facility is expected to enhance fuel supply reliability for consumers, particularly along major travel routes connecting northern areas and popular tourism destinations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), led by Senior Executive Director (Enforcement) Sohail Ahmed Tariq, along with senior representatives of Wafi Energy Pakistan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Wafi Energy Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Zubair Shaikh said the company remains committed to investing in Pakistan’s energy sector and improving fuel availability across the country.
“Pakistan’s demand for fuel continues to grow, and we are continuing to invest in energy security. Reliable supply depends on storage capacity and having facilities closer to customers,” he said.
He added that the new storage facility would strengthen the company’s ability to serve consumers while supporting the expansion of its Shell retail network in Pakistan.
The construction of the storage tank was completed in more than one year, involving approximately 300,000 safe work-hours, according to the company.
Wafi Energy Pakistan’s Shell retail network has expanded to more than 700 sites nationwide following the addition of 32 new locations in 2026.
The company said the latest investment reflects its long-term commitment to supporting Pakistan’s growing energy requirements, improving supply chain resilience and contributing to the country’s economic development.
