KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong bullish trend on Wednesday following reports of a possible pause in hostilities between Iran and the United States, boosting investor confidence and market sentiment.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index crossed the 180,000-point mark again, a level it had last surpassed after July 13, reflecting renewed buying activity across key sectors.
During the trading session, the index touched an intraday high of 180,202 points before closing at 180,014 points, gaining 2,931 points from the previous session.
The market remained volatile throughout the day, with the KSE-100 moving within a range of 1,690 points as investors closely monitored regional geopolitical developments and their potential impact on economic stability.
Trading activity also remained robust, with around 740 million shares changing hands in deals worth Rs35 billion.
The total market capitalization increased by Rs257 billion, reaching Rs20.09 trillion, reflecting improved investor confidence and positive momentum at the country’s largest stock market.
Market analysts attributed the rally to easing concerns over a broader Iran-US conflict, which had raised fears of higher energy prices, regional instability, and increased pressure on emerging markets.
